We're Goin' Fifteen Hundred Miles In Ten Days

Spendin' A Little Time Back In Paradise...

I'm sorry, but I can't help but be all keyed up this morning, Ladies and Gentlemen, as I push all of the luggage and tools and other stuff needed for this upcoming trip toward the carport door.

And in spite of the news...WE don't care how much gasoline costs, because no matter what it's worth the expense based on what we're going to get to do in the next week and one quarter.

You see, FIRST we're going to Louisiana with my Banjo on my knee heading south this morning toward LA--Lower Alabama--to visit with family and fool around on the farm for a couple of days.

Little Missy The Turbo Pup will probably be posting some new YouTUBE video's of her fishing exhibitions shortly if the weather hold up..

Then mid week we're heading east and driving across the Florida Panhandle to visit my Dad's brother--my Uncle Darrell--and his crowd over near Lakeland, FL.

And then later in the week we're heading Finally, FUNdamentally, BLISSFULLY, back across Florida and the southeastern corner of Southern Georgia to the Atlanta Ocean and over to our little home Island of St. Simons to cook in the Glynn County Rotary Club's "Red Hot Chili Cook off" a week from today.

 Fifteen Gallons of Chili.

More than TWO Thousand People wandering around with cups and spoons.

Wish US luck...If you will...

Chosing Between The Flu And The IRS...

I Can't Decide Which Is More Fun Of A Pain In The Ass...

Sorry Ladies and Gentlemen, but I'm too tired to write much of a Rant here this morning.

I think my title gives you a pretty good idea of what I've been putting up with and slogging through over the past near 72 hours.

Apparently I'm not going to die so I have to finish 3-1/2 sets of income taxes before we leave town on Friday for ten days.  I worked nearly continuously from 9PM last night to about 4 AM this morning and I think I have everything put together correctly.

Now I'm going to sleep for a few hours and then get back up and take an last minute look

Regards Y'all...

I Don't Know If It's The Crappy Reading Glasses...

Or The Aging, Dimming Eyeballs That Bother Me The Most?

For the first 45 years of my life I prided myself with having eyesight allowing me to read a newspaper in the dark of night and carrying 20/30 long distance vision in one eye and 20/40 in the other eye.

Then one day I was sitting in my art studio--the living room coffee table--doing some pen and ink drawings of local churches located down on our little island and I realized...HORROR...that I might need reading glasses.

The problem was that since I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body by a spinal cord and vertebrae and various muscles and ligaments, and would lose my shoes if they weren't tied on my feet, I've thus far to date gotten by with an assortment of sets of lenses and frames with a retail cost of somewhere between $7.00 (ACE Hardware on St. Simons) and $35.00 (Walgreen's and Eckards.)

This week alone I've completely lost one old pair...probably out in my yard debris fire efforts, and another pair either went down the toilet else there is some sort of black hole type phenomena in my home which only absorbs cheap pairs of glasses.

Fortunately I have about a dozen pairs scattered around the car and building so I can generally lay my hands on a replacement set of lenses in various stages of decay and scratching.

So any way, I have to go now and try to find a pair better than the ones I'm wearing because befor i ran spelcheck thus blof posting wuz ritten loking sumthin like thus...

All The King's Horses And All The King's Men...

Couldn't Put Me Back Together If I Tried To Do This...

Just Dang...

Learing A New Kind Of Gibberish Programming Language

@ If Read &AI0100 = Null Then Commit Suicide Get Out User Guide...

Gosh Darn it all Ladies and Gentlemen...

I just can't seem to make things easy on myself these days.

It seems that each and every single time...without fail...that I manage to conquer some new mountain of a task involving using an old brain full of dead or dying synapses to semi-fluently understand some new system and the language needed to make it work...

along comes another opportunity to wallow and waste infinite time pulling the remaining hair out of my every greying, ever balding head trying to understand some other silly set of sensors made by someone generally in places like Germany or Poland or Italy.

One might wonder why they don't make crap like I need on these projects in the United By-God States of 'Merica so the documentation and programming manuals could be originally written in ENGLISH rather than translated from some other language into my native language by someone that took English in the eighth grade and maybe a couple of semesters in Collage.

You Know?

As things stand right now I've got about eight hours spent over the past week trying to get a HART modem connection to an Ultrasonic Tank level sensor to work so I can see the signal between it and one of my Touch Screen PLC/s on my Shop Computer.

I had a major break though this morning when I actually managed to get the green "power" light on the Modem to turn on and the Computer found the Sensor, but right now the Sensor can't seem to find a puddle of water 10 inches deep located a half foot below it in a five gallon Home Depot paint bucket.

And I'm trying to measure the waste water level in four tanks that are nearly 50 feet long and over 10' diameter, outside, in the hot sunshine during a South Carolina summer.

At this rate I'll be sitting on top of the tanks with a giant dipstick baking my brains out while the customer bitches at me this spring if I actually manage to sell this system in the next couple of weeks.

So any way, I guess I better stop blogging and get back to work while the process is fresh in my mind, and in the mean time Y'all have  LOVELY  Monday.
