Air Sickness

I’ve spent the past two and one-half days wallowing around in my bed trying to get comfortable—something that has proven to be virtually impossible because of the malady affecting my gastrointestinal tract—ALL of my GI tract.

Without providing any additional gory details, lets just say that I’m probably five pounds lighter and slightly dehydrated because I haven’t consumed anything but ginger ale, green tea, and chicken broth since dinner on Friday.

I’m back to about 75% of normal right now, and if I felt much worse I’d have to cancel my trip to go visit my mother in southern Alabama.

My flight departs Brunswick at 6:10 AM this morning. The good news is that the trip is broken up into two 50 minute segments in the air, so hopefully the risk of causing some sort of security incident will be minimized by the short flight durations.

I’d sure hate to cause one of my flights to have to declare an emergency, drop the oxygen masks, and be escorted into Atlanta or Dothan by F-16’s because I opened the restroom door in flight.

My blogging will be affected this week by having to use a slow dial-up connection.

I know, I know, I know--the hearts of those of you without cable or DSL are playing tiny violins for me right now.

Oh, the misery…
