I was lying here on the sofa watching FOX News at about 5:35 AM when they broke in to say that a Cypriot Airlines plane with 110 people on board had crashed north of Athens.
Further, they said that one of the pilots was reported to have collapsed, the control tower had earlier lost communications with the craft, and it was being escorted by two F-16’s when it went down.
I hope it’s just an accident, but this sounds like there might be something else going one here besides a simple plane crash.
Airline pilots are quite capable of acting solo in the event one pilot is incapacitated, and the loss of communications and the F-16 escort sounds suspicious to me, particularly when the event ends with the loss of the aircraft.
Wait and see…
UPDATE: The Associated Press is now saying the plane carried 115 passengers and 6 crew members. One of the F-16 fighter pilots is quoted as reporting that he did not see one of the pilots in the cockpit, and the one he saw was slumped over in his seat.
Something doesn't sound right here to me...
