It Was Said By Cicero

Lend Me You Ears...

A mind without instruction can no more bear fruit than can a field, however fertile, without cultivation.

Freedom is a possession of inestimable value.

Natural ability without education has more often attained to glory and virtue than education without natural ability.

Not to know what has been transacted in former times is to be always a child. If no use is made of the labors of past ages, the world must remain always in the infancy of knowledge.

The name of peace is sweet, and the thing itself is beneficial, but there is a great difference between peace and servitude. Peace is freedom in tranquillity, servitude is the worst of all evils, to be resisted not only by war, but even by death.

History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time; it illumines reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in daily life and brings us tidings of antiquity.

The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.

Obama Campaign Finance Fraud

Crazy Crap And The Crapheads What Crapped It...

Ladies and Gentlemen, I propose that you forget the issue of "Voter Fraud" this afternoon.

Instead I ask that you consider this question:

"What about campaign finance fraud of the massive variety, conducted on by the Barack Obama Campaign Website?"

What turned me on to this story was a posting by my Blog Idols over at Powerline.com about readers being able to make donations on the Obamarama Web Site with fraudulent Credit card information.

Just out of interest I tried it myself, entering insane data into the name, address, and other fields normally used to qualify credit card transactions and guess what???

IT WORKED!!!

Here's some screen shots of my progress (click on each image and look at how stupidly I answered the ID questions:

Most notably the web site didn't ask for the three digit security code found on the back of the card, but the ridiculous name and address info should have been MORE THAN ENOUGH to have prevented my $5 donation from going through.

Can you believe this crap?

They let "Stupid Republican" living in Red State, TN, a self described "Self-Employed Moron" give them $5 on a credit card to which absolutely none of the personal data matched with.

The only thing I correctly entered was the credit card number and the expiration date.

I guess I have to admit that maybe the folks over at Obamarama's campaign headquarters aren't actually trying to facilitate fraud...

Maybe they just have to make things extra easy because they think (or know) that their supporters are too STUPID to correctly enter data in a online form

Is it any wonder that this lieing impostor has raised record numbers of dollars in donations--much of which under the $200 threshold requiring reporting to the Federal Election Commission?

Yeah...I thought so...

More Crap From The Lamestream Media

Things That Make Me Go "#&$@*!!"

Tonight I tripped over this breathless ASSociated Press story titled "Palin Children Traveled On State Funds".

My first thought was..."OLD NEWS" because this information was published in an informative yet neutral light immediately after Governor Palin was picked as McCain's VP candidate. I read the story myself in doing research at the time and found nothing disturbing in the information presented.

Then tonight I read the new AP story and as I followed through the endless itemization of the trips the children had made with their mother and the tone in which they are presented I got madder and madder.

Now my head is approaching orbital rotational velocity because I have to think and say:

WHAT TOTAL UNMITIGATED USELESS PARTISAN CRAP...in written form.

You see, the earlier story had pointed out that Palin lived outside Anchorage, and the state capitol was in Juneau, and instead of firing up the Governor's mansion and living there full time she had elected to save the state of Alaska money while at the same time being a good mother and staying with her children as much as possible while letting them sleep in their own bedrooms and attending their normal schools.

When she ran for Governor she also made no secret of the idea that she was a mother with young children and if elected the state got not just a woman Governor but an entire closely-knit normal family with a husband and wife and kids and possibly a few dogs and cats--not the celebrated liberal bastardization of a family featuring "two gay daddies" or "two lesbian mommies" or a frazzled single woman with multiple children by multiple men working in a strip club and a truck stop to make ends meet.

They also weren't getting some ugly hairy legged ingrate feminist liberal female who would abandon her spouse and offspring to run off across the state in pursuit of political fame and financial spoils. If that were actually the case--Palin leaving her kids to her husband and a nanny--then we'd have an entirely different headline this morning.

Yet these so-called "professional media" assheads over at the aptly named ASSociated Press have to devote nearly 1,500 words and hours of "research" to telling us that Palin's kids travel with her while she carries out her official duties.

And you know what, in pursuit of fairness I did a Google search using the words "Obama children's travel expenses" and you know what came up first? Here...Take a look:

That's right, I looked through the first three pages of a Google search looking for stories about Obama's travel with his kids and the only stories that came up were stories about Sara Palin's purported "travel indiscretions" and "ethics violations" committed while hauling her kids around the State of Alaska and North America so she could be of all things a good mother.

To punctuate their position on the story the reporter adds these passages:

Tony Knowles, a Democratic former governor of Alaska who lost to Palin in a 2006 bid to reclaim the job, said he never charged the state for his three children's commercial flights or claimed their travel as official state business.

Knowles, who was governor from 1994 to 2002, is the only other recent Alaska governor who had school-age children while in office.

"There was no valid reason for the children to be along on state business," said Knowles, a supporter of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama. "I cannot recall any instance during my eight years as governor where it would have been appropriate to claim they performed state business."

Knowles said he brought his children to one NGA event while in office but didn't charge the state for their trip.

And the new AP story says this about the current VP candidate:

In all, Palin has charged the state $21,012 for her three daughters' 64 one-way and 12 round-trip commercial flights since she took office in December 2006. In some other cases, she has charged the state for hotel rooms for the girls.

In addition to the kid's airfare I added up everything else mentioned in this latest Lamestream media hatchet piece attributed to potential "questionable" spending by Governor Palin it it only totaled $101,783.06

But of course the latest ASSociated Press rehash of their own story a version of which was published on September 10th leaves out this little tidbit of info that would probably change your whole perspective on the entire issue if they reminded you:

Overall, Palin's travel spending pales in comparison with that of predecessor Frank Murkowski, who charged $463,000 for air fare in 2006. Palin charged $93,000 in 2007.

So the Democratic Alaska Governor from 2002 to 2006 spent nearly a HALF MILLION DOLLARS IN ONE YEAR FOR AIR TRAVEL and that's not a story, but a Republican Governor spending a little over $100,000 in two years is a story.

I guess Sara should have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express so the lamestream media would feel a little better and Sara would be a little smarter as a result, but then again when it's all said and done I say that this is all just...

Much Ado About Nothing!

That will be all...For Now...

Garden & Gun Magazine

A Publication I Can Identify With...

I was cooling my heals with Pat late yesterday afternoon at a local restaurant after traversing parts of Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee on the way home from my uncle Tom's funeral when a lady sat down adjacent to us carrying a copy of this magazine:

Needless to say I did a double take, but after I did some Googling this evening I found the Mag to be quite interesting.

Maybe I'll subscribe.

Southern Ohio

A Nice Resting Place...

Up this little valley, on top of these old mountians just north of the Ohio River:

lies a farm that's been owned by various parts of my Father's family for over 100 years now.

Up on top of one of the highest hills in the area is a place where we're called to go rest when our lives are over:

I'm starting to know quite a crowd up there...

31 Years Ago Today

Lynyrd Skynyrd Goes Down...

I remember the news like it was yesterday...the chartered Convair twin engine plane going down in a swamp in Mississippi taking the Van Zant brothers and their entourage with it. Six people were dead when the smoke cleared.

You can read more of the story here...

RIP Mr. Van Zant and Crew...
