Neighborhood Friends

We've had a hummingbird feeder out on our back patio since early spring, and we're reluctantly anticipating these little guys departure back across the Gulf of Mexico for the winter.

Imagine weighing 3 or 4 grams and flying HUNDREDS of miles across open water?

Very late Friday night this little lady showed up on our front porch, having been frightened onto the second floor by the sprinkler system.


















She belonged in her own condo across the street, but she took time out from her busy schedule to help me with some blogging after I dried her off and gave her a drink and a snack.
