Riddlin for the Blogger Mind or...Multitasking with hyperactive hyperlinks

My brain is literally paralyzed with indecision since yesterday morning regarding what topics to write about and when to post them. One thing is sure, Hurricane Frances is going to drive us all crazy here on the southern Atlantic coast.

I have four different topics (Hurricane Frances, Kobe Bryant, universal health care, and something else that escapes my mind at the moment???) under development as we speak, not including this item. I guess I’m going to post this in an effort to apologize to myself for not meeting my goal of a post per day. Believe it or not, I do have quality standards for my writing (my own standards, not yours.)

I’m not sure if it is going to help or hinder my efforts, but I have found a number of amazing political Bloggers (instapundit, powerlineblog) who are doing high quality writing and making money doing it. And here I was thinking that this was just a reason to stay up all night and rant and rave about whatever topic caught my somewhat bloodshot, squinting, middle-aged eyes. Captain Edward Morrissey at Captain's Quarters (who happens to be blogging from the Republican Convention this week) even responded to an E-mail I sent him. I’m all a tingle…I feel like a groupie at an Elvis concert.

I guess the only good news is that I have stopped using crappy direct text links in my writing and have started using descriptive words like beldarblogs instead of http://beldar.blogs.com/. I guess I was just lazy, but I decided this week to clean up my act and the documents will look better I admit.

I’ve spent a good deal of time looking at other blogs and have made some modifications to the Coastalcompanion site including a hit counter. I had over 40 hits in August (ok,ok,ok only 40 hits) but someone is reading what I am writing and I hope to keep your attention. I am working on adding a links section that will show you some other like-minded bloggers and some web sites that I enjoy regularly (no porno—sorry to all you married guys and other perverts out there.)

At the risk of being proven wrong, I’m going to sign off now and work on my other writings. If I get something else posted before 09/03, you’ll be the second to know.
