Short People Got...No Reason To Live

Not Just Song Lyrics...It's Official Now

I just couldn't help but think of the words to Randy Newman's hit song "Short People" when I saw the headline to this medical news story:

Height affects how people perceive their quality of life

Your height in adult life significantly affects your quality of life, with short people reporting worse physical and mental health than people of normal height.

This large, peer reviewed study, which appears in Clinical Endocrinology, shows that adult height is linked to how good a person thinks their health is. Short people judge their state of health to be significantly lower than their normal height peers do.

I have to wonder about the basis and underling political intent of this story, because I'm 6'3" tall and the road I've traveled hasn't been a cake walk thus far.

I wouldn't be surprised to see sHrillary propose some kind of government tax credits for people enduring living with statures under 5'-10" high or whatever the average or median height is here in the US. (Unfortunately most people don't know the difference between the average and the median, so there should be another education initiative undertaken in this program while they're at it.)

Any way, I guess the Asians and Mexicans be raking it in on their income tax returns, IF they file one. Now back to Randy Newman's hit...

Short people got no reason
Short people got no reason
Short people got no reason
To live

They got little hands
And little eyes
And they walk around
Tellin' great big lies
They got little noses
And tiny little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On their nasty little feet

Well, I don't want no short people
Don't want no short people
Don't want no short people
Round here

Heh...
