Tryin' To Maintain That Christmas Spirit Here Boss

Real Life Get's In The Way Of The Holidays...

OK...I'm trying my very best to not be cranky, BUT...

It's real hard because every day my ever greying, ever balding head causes me to become more of a Curmudgeon.

For instance...

In a fit of insanity we ran out yesterday with me expecting to risk life and limb in a traffic jam to go to Kroger for some stuff and by intentionally cutting the day short and stopping to eat dinner at about 3 PM we somehow avoided the rush.

I'm pleased to report that I didn't have to rip anyone's arm off and beat them to death with it.

I came close a couple of times, but I was somehow on my best behavior with my low Testosterone levels and high Christmas Spirit so everyone came home unscathed in spite of a couple of people deserving a little vigilante justice.

Pat was off all day Friday and we will both be semi-officially off all of next week so we have infinite time to finish the details up...

but still...

when we ran out to dinner Friday night and had a good meal we found that coming home the Pike was literally "Bumper to Bumper" going toward the Turkey Creek shopping district for three or four miles so I've started getting all grumpy and paranoid and antsy in the process worrying about close encounter of the "stupid holiday consumer" kind.

Don't get me wrong here.

I love Christmas.

I love (most) of my fellow humans.

But gosh darn it I hate when I have to go out and do things I need to do and in the process I'm forced encounter more than about 0.00000000002% of them in a single day and/or event...particularly when they are trying to operate an automobile and a cell phone in a single instant.

Sigh...taking a big breath here boss...

Even the ones that are related to me by blood/birth get to me sometimes.

But any way...we're down to the wire regarding "holiday Stuff" here at the Turbo Pup Compound on the banks of the Mighty Tennessee River, yet in the spirit of Christmas later (actually earlier like 9 AM) this Sunday morning we're going to sneak out and do some final running around buying some stuff...

did I mention that little Missy the Turbo Pup turns FOUR YEARS old today???

Time flys and our little tiny miniature long haired dachshund gets better every single day.

So then we're going to come home and hide before the unwashed masses get into full holiday frenzy spending time finishing wrapping boxes and getting ready to head south down to Atlanta for an evening and then on to the farm in lower Alabama for the Christmas weekend.

I hope the weather man gives us at least dry weather for the Christmas weekend and possibly high temperatures in the 60's or possibly even in the 70's so we can enjoy some fishing in between eating excess quantities of ham and other stuff.

That's about it right now, and other than that...y'all have a LOVELY Sunday....
