Just when we thought it was safe to go back in the water, WILMA has to come along. She likely won't bother us here on the Georgia coast, but I get to spend the next week worrying about my mother in south Alabama.

The weather channel reporters are gassing up the satellite trucks and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagen is probably feeling every orifice in his body tightening up uncomfortably.
FEMA will be loading up another truck load of dynamite and the Nation of Islam leaders are buying new microphone cords and polishing the lenses on their TV cameras in anticipation of denouncing the ill prepared, racist response to this next disaster.
