Ted Kennedy R.I.P.

I Didn't Agree With The Man...But At Least He Stood For Something

I just can't be mean and celebrate someone's death or suffering. I hope my peers on the center/right side of the Bloggosphere are equally respectful.

Sorry, I can't really have any sympathy for this guy... and the more I hear how "amazing" his life was, the more angry I'll get.

Lets not forget that he killed his pregnant girlfriend Mary Jo Kapechne. He flipped the car in MV, walked home a mile and a half (never bothering to see if she was ok) went to bed, woke up 8 hours later and called police at the recommendation of his aides and family.

Any other person in this world would have been charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

Why we felt it was OK, and continued to vote him into the Senate is beyond me.

Sorry if I show no sympathy... it's because I have none. I hope that if I do something as agregious in my life, that I'm treated equally as bad.

Celebrate his life? What is it exactly that we're celebrating? Insurmountable debt in MA? The Big Dig? Crumbling monuments (ever seen the Pilgrim Memorial in Plymouth?).

Yeah, not sad... sorry.
