The Islamo-Fascist's Dead Osama Bin Laden's Dead

Breaking News...

I was sitting here trying to get started up in my shop, all the while wincing my way along enduring Hernando Revolver's Geraldo Rivera's blithering on FOX News.

They were talking up the sudden calling of a news conference by the President late on Sunday night.

Then they rambled through a series of information flashes which ultimately said that Bin Laden was shot and killed last week and that the DNA verification testing was just made available tonight.

So now we have to listen to President Obama crow about his administration doing something that President Bush couldn't or wouldn't do...killing Osama?

And does that mean by default that Obama killed Osama?

Regardless of who actually did the deed or where it was done, all in all it's a good thing I think.

(I tossed in the "Hernando Revolver" reference for all of you Cheech and Chong fans out there...)

Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Flattery

My Blog Idols Over At PowerLine Have It Right...

I wrote a fairly testy posting earlier this morning while I was feeling all cranky about the "Royal Wedding" and the amount of time the TV Networks and apparently a large portion of our population was wasting watching the proceedings.

Don't get me wrong here...

As a devout Libertarian (for lack of a better qualifying political moniker), I believe that you should be allowed by society and our government to endlessly expend your time (i.e. waste your fleeting seconds of life on this planet) worrying about Wealthy Celebrities out in Hollywood or the marriage of the offspring of ancient family members of dysfunctional former out of date Feudal European governments....

...or playing Playstation games...

... or just spending a comfortable afternoon picking your nose while sitting naked in a beanbag chair eating Cheese Puffs looking at MTV.

As Internationally famous Atlanta Talk Show Host Neal Boortz says... (and I paraphrase):

"If whatever you do or want to do doesn't interfere with or infringe upon the life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, or property rights of another person or persons, feel free to continue to do it and resist with great vigor any government action or mob (We're a REPUBLIC...not a DEMOCRACY) effort to stop you and like minded people for pursuing your endeavors.

Thus...

If you are interested in the private affairs of idiots that happen to be good looking enough and/or smart enough and/or lucky enough to make a fortune by having people like you buy tickets and throw money at them to appear on TV or film is your thing, GO FOR IT!

But then again, when you step back and realise that YOU don't figure into the fame and fortune equation in any way other than expending your capitol...mental and physical and financial...to the process...

...and that in the end you don't really own anything as a result of wearing a T-shirt with a sports team name or other capitalistic product brand logo or image...

...other than the actual market value of an over priced T-shirt...

then I guess that you get what you deserve in the end...just don't come crying to me or start voting for some politician to come pick my pocket and take some of what little money I've managed to earn ignoring such folly and actually working for a living and paying attention to more important matters at hand.

(remember the aforementioned Neal Boortz quote about infringing on my rights as owner of my property and God given freedoms)

And now I digress...

John Hinderaker, one of the fellows that writes over at Powerline Blog was having basically the same feelings I was having this morning because his wife was going to get up to watch the whole pompous wedding extravaganza in England or Great Briton or whatever they call it these days, and in the process in his writing he pointed out these two YouTube videos:

This one is a real wedding video sequence I missed when it was first published on YouTube but has had something like 65 million hits to date:

Then T-Mobile proceeded to produce this knock off recently of this similar video featuring the "Royals" with some surprising look alikes playing the parts:

And with this about that, all I have to say is...

Heh....

Egypt Falls

I've Seen This Movie Before...

Last time we had a limp wristed pansy Assed butt kissing pacifist President here in the US was the Jimmuh Carter years in the late 1970's.

Slick Willie Clinton was a liberal but he thought nothing of tossing a few Cruise missiles across the border of some middle eastern country into a terrorist camp to distract attention away from his latest sexual dalliance.

And the Berkley patchouli stinking, Tie Dyed, Kumbaya singing tree hugging Earth Day liberal progressives have blamed every thing and everyone but Carter's policies for the Iranian Hostage crisis which lasted 444 days ending when Reagan was inaugurated.

Since then they've given ABSOLUTELY ZERO credit to President Bush's ability to keep further terrorist attacks from taking place here on American soil after the 9/11 incident which was essentially planned and implemented under Clinton.

This week, Ladies & Gentlemen, we're seeing EXACTLY THE SAME THING DEVELOP IN EGYPT UNDER OUR COMMUNITY ORGANIZER IN CHIEF Obamarama.

The militants and "dissidents" and "freedom fighters" are in the process of turning that country upside down and I guarnandamntee you that it ain't going to be pretty when the dust settles unless the US takes decisive action.

And I guarandamntee you that Americans and Western Europeans lives are at peril and probably will end up hostages if they are not dead shortly.

They just announced that the Egyptian Airline has suspended flights for the next 12 hours and I suspect that other air carriers going into the country if not the region have suspended or at least curtailed flights so if you are a non-muslim and want to get out now you are shit out of luck.

Just watch...and remember you heard it here first.

UPDATE  4:55 PM  Delta Airlines has announced that their last flight out of Egypt will be tomorrow.

Isn't it lovely how quickly Obama and Hillary can screw around and allow this Egyptian shit to basically offset the stability we've managed to get in Iraq?

The difference is that Iraq doesn't sit beside the Red Sea and most importantly the Suez Canal.

Get ready for $5 dollar a gallon gasoline while you're at it I think.

Insanity Continues To Wreck Havoc

Idiots On The left Already Blaming The Right...

As you know if you read this blog, I've been around more than a little while here on this planet and in the past half century I've gone from pure Conservative to Libertarian in my adult life.

Before that transformation, back before I could actually vote in an election, I have to admit that I was a George Wallace Democrat because A) I was born and raised and lived in southern Alabama, and B) I was born and raised and lived in southern Alabama and didn't know anything else to do when it came to politics.

I suspect that people living in South Carolina voting for Strom Thurman and in Georgia electing Lester Maddox were in the same position even if they were a few years or even a generation older than me at the time.

That said, it pisses me off when people, unfortunately usually young white men, take things into their own hands and bypass the electoral process and go out and SHOOT DULY ELECTED OFFICIALS when they don't agree with them and their politics.

Happened to George Wallace during his presidential campaign in 1972, happened to Gerrald Ford and Ron Reagan and Kennedy and Lincoln and God knows how many other now forgotten local and state politicians, but in my opinion this mess which happened out in Arizona yesterday is going to do NOTHING if not make it harder for the people to talk to their governing officials and put a bunch of additional pressure on gun owners because the anti-gun idiots will use the event as a talking point.

My heart goes out to the wounded and the dead from yesterday's "man made disaster" but the media coverage and the political BS coming out of it pisses me off and there is nothing I can do but sit on the sidelines quietly and watch.

I Say We Repeal The 17th Amendment

Why Let The Public Dumbasses Rocket Scientists Elect All National Officers?

Needless to say I am a Fairly Happy Redneck Blogger (or FHRB for short) this morning based on the landslide turn which the membership of the US House of Representatives apparently took yesterday

I wandered into the local middle school to cast my Vote a little after 1 PM yesterday and was out the door less than 15 minutes later.

It's going to be funny as hell to watch that Left Coast psyco-bitch, now soon to be "former" Speaker of the House Nasty Pelosi, have to pack up the contents of her elaborate office full of tens of thousands of dollars of taxpayer funded flowers and catered food next January and hand over the keys to the US Air Force Gulfstreams and Boeing 757 she's commandeered to fly between DC and California since she ascended to her stinky gold plated toilet her position in charge of the House and started banging a Gavel around on unsuspecting white men's heads.

Unfortunately Nevada Senator and Senate Majority Leader "Dingy" Harry Reid managed to gerrymander his way into keeping his seat while another half dozen candidates as far away as Hawaii and in places as amazing as West Virginia (former Robert "Pretty Pretty" "KKK" Byrd's seat) came darn close to pulling off upsets.

Speaking of upsets, anyone who is familiar with history earlier than the first Super Bowl or possibly World War II knows that as our founding Fathers envisioned things the members of the US Senate were appointed by the Governments of the INDIVIDUAL STATES and had the job of protecting the rights of states against crap like the current John Holder lawsuit against Arizona and the ObamaramaCare mandate that states expand Medicare/Medicaid and individuals buy health insurance.

Here's the link to Article 1, Section 3 of the US Constitution text which says:

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof (emphasis mine), for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.

Immediately after they shall be assembled in Consequence of the first Election, they shall be divided as equally as may be into three Classes. The Seats of the Senators of the first Class shall be vacated at the Expiration of the second Year, of the second Class at the Expiration of the fourth Year, and of the third Class at the Expiration of the sixth Year, so that one third may be chosen every second Year; and if Vacancies happen by Resignation, or otherwise, during the Recess of the Legislature of any State, the Executive thereof may make temporary Appointments until the next Meeting of the Legislature, which shall then fill such Vacancies.

But then the idiots running the Senate itself, aided and abetted by a population almost as silly as some of the people we have out there today, passed the Seventeenth_Amendment in 1913 saying:

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures.

When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of such State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.

This amendment shall not be so construed as to affect the election or term of any Senator chosen before it becomes valid as part of the Constitution.

Thus today we see the continued erosion of states rights by a bunch of elitist assholes who once are elected get to sit around for SIX year terms and impose their wrath on the unwashed masses.

And while I'm at it, I'd say that passing term limits on the House and Senate at both the state and national level--two consecutive terms and three total lifetime would change the flavor and color of the drinking water and the cost of living in most places here in the good old By-God United States of  'Merica.

And finally...while on a good rant...

I want the politicians to stop all of this "concentrating on creating JOBS" crappola and get the $#@%* out of my way and let me create my own employment opportunity, and then let me keep enough of MY MONEY as a member of one of their so-called "working families" in order to eat and pay my mortgage and utilities and take an occasional vacation and possibly retire in the next 10 or 15 years if I don't die of a ruptured blood vessel in my forehead in the process...

Got it?

That will be ALL...for now...

OK MORE 4:01 AM:

Here's the MSNBC Dumbass Chris Mathews showing his IQ in a post victory interview with Republican Politician Babe Rep. Michele Bachman (R MN)

I wish someone would stomp that silly idiot's ass just once and give him a good attitude adjustment and make him unsuitable in appearance for Prime time TV crap like he does...

Grey Eagles

WWII Mustang Pilots...

Go watch this video when you have about 15 minutes, then come back and try to tell me what's happened to our country and many of our population since.

[Link to "Grey Eagles"]

One of my early mentors in business, a guy named Sam Watson that ran a steel fab shop in the Atlanta area, was a North American P-51 Mustang pilot during the war and continued on as a flight instructor flying them in the Air Force reserve at Dobbins Air Force Base into the late 1950's.

Like Major Jim Brooks shown in the film, he didn't talk about the war much either, but he did talk about the machine and his love of flying the Mustang.

Sam's been dead for a long time now, and as they say...

They don't make 'em like that any more.

(...and you're welcome if you liked the film...)

Sunday Lethargy

Ho Hum...

Well, the college football regular season is over and the bowl games that really mean anything won't begin until the end of December, so I have an extra four hours for the next few weekends that I'm going to have to figure something to do with myself.

The house is in pretty good shape inside and out, with the only ongoing projects being the final staining and finish on the two new exterior wood door slabs I bought back in September in the middle of the Kitchen floor project.

Fortunately we have storm doors on both openings so the weather won't be a problem...and the front door slab is still awaiting hinge slots and hardware holes--something I'll probably do in the basement unless the weather warms up for a few days.

On the political front, I see where Dingy Harry Reid is up to his normal BS...calling a Sunday afternoon Senate session and a pow wow with President Obamarama to try to slip some more money into the the miserable piece of legislation they call a "Healthcare Bill" and getting the whole thing passed before Christmas.

If they do manage to get it done just realize we've all basically will have gotten a giant dusty lump of coal crammed into our Christmas Stockings courtesy of a Government that could care less what the American People think or want.

Then I read the most obtuse, feckless ASSociated Press article in the local paper this morning, subtitled an "Analysis" talking about "some experts say[ing] the world is losing the battle against Global Warming and warn that humans need to follow natures example: Adapt or die."

What total unmitigated BS.

The article then goes on to spew the typical Eco Friendly Greenie Weenie Tree hugger crap about rising temperatures forcing animals and plants to relocate or adapt (I call it "Evolve") and rising sea levels threatening every thing and every one from New York City to California and everywhere in between.

"Some biologists point to how nature has handled the changing climate. The rare Adonis Blue Butterfly of Britain looked as if it was going to disappear because it couldn't fly far and global warming was making its habitat unbearable. To biologists surprise it evolved longer thoraxes and wings, allowing it to fly farther to cooler locals."

Would somebody cry me a River over this horse hockey?

These same kind of idiots would have stood around the La Brea Tar Pit in Los Angeles and told congress it was Mankind's' fault the Woolly Mammoths and Saber Toothed Tigers were jumping in the tar pit because they were committing suicide running from rising sea levels and cooling global temperatures caused by Exxon and Con Edison.

How can these people keep a straight face when they hyperventilate and look at things that are happening (or not happening in the case of significant rising sea levels and atmospheric temperatures) and bend the effects and causes and results to fit their own stupid political agendas.

The article's author closes by telling us our Community Organizer President wants to give away $1.2 billion of taxpayer dollars for "international climate aid."

The World Bank and the UN and a bunch of other sniveling, booger eating, tree hugging, patchouli stinking "experts" and "activists" then go on to say "...$10 to $12 billion a year through 2012" ...wait...no "...more like $75 billion to $100 billion a year over the next 40 years" ...hold on..."it may even be $200 billion a year or $300 billion..."

How in the world can anyone have any confidence in numbers like that being casually tossed around and varying in a range of over 3000%.

That's a THREE THOUSAND PERCENT range of estimates of how much of other people's money it's going to take to move poor people out of countries that started out below sea level back about 1000 BC--places like Bangladesh and Thailand and even Denmark and the Netherlands.

They want to pass some new world wide taxes on "rich nations" and then run out and do things like build seawalls and dikes and levies and even build houses on stilts that are taller than the stilts the houses are already built on.

What a bunch of highly educated IDIOTS.

I have a suggestion made by my old Comedic Idol Sam Kinison....

Wouldn't it be cheaper to send them Luggage?

And packing crates, moving boxes, and U-hauls?

And give them maps showing flood plains and telling them to get the heck out and move to dry land?

I swear people, if we continue to let these wild eyed, hand wringing, professional victims and their corrupt politicians reach further and further into our economy and YOUR and MY WALLETS, all we're going to get in return for our "investment" is the opportunity to avoid drowning in rising oceans and seas and instead end up drowning in a NEW MAN MADE SEA...

A SEA OF RED INK...

Is it just ME?

Think about it and get back to me when you have the time...

That will be all...for now...

Obama Versus Chamberlain Churchill

History Repeats Itself...

I haven't bothered to comment on President Obama's cowtowing, appeasing speech to and from the Muslim/Arab world last week because his Speech left me "Speechless."

After all the crap he's delivered in the name of "the American People" it really pissed me off to see him standing there in Normandy yesterday desecrating the memory of all the honorable men that were wounded or died there 65 years ago.

I guess the Jews have similar sentiments regarding his lies about his family ties to liberating the people held in German prison camps and his use of that poor old guy with the wild hair as a photo opportunity ...but in spite of the UN and the liberals I'll let the Hebrew's take care of themselves.

Any way...

What a maroon...

What an ultra-maroon we have for a President.

Back to my point this morning...I've become a bit of a Winston Churchill fan over the past twenty years because by accident (in other words...in SPITE of my public schooled government education) I've discovered what a HUGE influence he had over saving Europe from the German aggressions and how instrumental he was in forcing the isolationist liberal elites and politicians here in the United States to join the war effort in Europe.

Besides his well deserved place in world history, Churchill was an intellectual genius and a great artist, painter, and orator--one of my personal hero's today because I aspire to be all of those same things although I'm afraid I continue to fall quite short of his standards.

My blog idols--the guys over at Powerline-- reminded me of the words Winston Churchill wrote after Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich Agreement with Hitler's Germany in August 1938.

The funny thing to me was that while the agreement basically ceeded land to Germany from the Czech's, and representatives from most of Europe attended the "conference", the Czechs weren't invited and DIDN'T SIGN.

That's sort of where I feel like most "average Americans" are today as Obama runs around the world spewing bullshit.

I certainly didn't sign up to have his words uttered on my behalf.

Take a look at these parts of Churchill's comments in blue while I add my own modern insertions in red:

"Silent, mournful, abandoned, broken, Czechoslovakia Israel receded into darkness. She has suffered in every respect by her association with the Western democracies and the League of Nations United Nations."

"But they [the people] have no power," he said. "...there can never be friendship between the British democracy Americans and the Nazi power...the Radical Muslim Nations... which derives perverted pleasure from persecution...and uses with pitless brutality the threat of murderous force."

He ended his speech in the House of Commons by describing the Munich Agreement as "only the beginning of the reckoning. This is only the first sip, the first foretaste of a bitter cup which will be proffered to us year by year unless by a supreme recovery of moral health and martial vigour, we arise again and take our stand for freedom as in the olden time."

Where are men like Churchill when we need them today?

Rubbing My (Boston) Butt On The Holiday

Bar-B-Que In Celebration & In Memory...

Thus far I've failed to mention Memorial Day in any fashion than describing my deck construction efforts and my cooking for the day.

I guess it's only fitting that there is a day separate from Veterans' Day to recognize the members of our armed forces that served our country to protect our freedom and interests in military conflict and never made it back home alive.

A number of members of my own family have served in the military since the Civil War, but very few if any have been killed in combat.

Looking back starting in recent history, my cousins in mother's and father's family were mostly girls, and the boys including myself were too young to serve in Vietnam so we avoided any losses there.

My cousin Jim subsequently joined the Marine corps after Vietnam and became a helicopter pilot, serving tours of duty in Grenada, Lebanon, and some time during the first Persian Gulf war, and today is a successful lawyer and a Brigadier General in the Marine Corps Reserve.

One of my girl cousins on Mom's side has a genius husband who never did font line service but was a fighter pilot, the Flight Surgeon of the Air force in Washington DC, and today is also a General and is soon to retire as a successful Neuro Surgeon with the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. ( I feel like a total dumbass sitting beside that guy...)

My cousin Jeff was an Army tank driver for a while with NATO forces in Germany back in the 1980's but never saw combat. Like me he probably has some interesting R&R stories to tell braving life and limb in watering holes in a foreign country.

Mom's family was also fortunate to send two of her brothers to Europe during WWII and have both of them avoid death or substantial injury during their long terms of duty.

My Uncle John was a tail and belly gunner on B-25 Mitchel low level bombers and HIS ENTIRE CREW managed to fly a couple of dozen missions without losing anything but airplanes. They all came home alive and several including Uncle John survive to this day.

Mom's father served in WWI in France including in the Argon Forrest as an Army infantryman and lost most of his hearing due to the damage done listening to Artillery fire while laying in a trench full of mud.

He came home to live another 63 years as the head of our 360 acre farm in southern Alabama.

His father--my Great Grandfather--served a number of years with the Confederate Forces' Army of the Mississippi and was severely wounded in the Battle of Perryville, Kentucky in October 1862.

His injuries caused his arm to be amputated and he was discharged from the hospital and the Army at the same time--having to resort to WALK HOME to the farm in Elba, Alabama at his own expense. (Imagine the liberal howls and the media hysteria today if the US military just turned you loose after cutting off your arm and deciding that you were no longer useful as a soldier?)

Family lore has it that no one in the family even recognized him in his ragged emaciated condition when he arrived home, but still he survived and ultimately recovered fully and lived a long life as a farmer...working a plow mule team with ONE ARM with the reigns wrapped around his neck or torso.

On Dad's side of the family tree things are a little more fuzzy beyond a couple of three generations to me because I grew up so far away from the coal fields of Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

I think we might have lost a few great uncles and great great uncles in all three of the wars but the names and details escape me even today.

I'm pretty sure my Great Grandfather Rogers didn't fight in the Civil War, and my Grandfather, my namesake Virgil Sr., was too young to fight in WWI. He was also given a deference for military service in WWII and the Korean War because of the importance of coal mining to the military effort and industrial production.

My Father was in ROTC in college and did four years in the Army going to flight school between the Korean War and Vietnam. Later he served as a civilian test pilot during Vietnam, thereby avoiding the bullets and land mines in the Asian rice patties but still risking his life and limb on every flight while proving concepts for secret airborne weaponry imaging systems and reconnaissance gathering devices which saved thousands if not tens of thousands of lives in the battlefield.

Both of my uncles on Dad's side of the family did time in the Army during Vietnam but their MOS's allowed them to stay stateside rather than deploying to where the fighting was.

And ME???

My lazy disrespectful butt volunteered and did two years of Navy reserve time back in the late 1970's after the hostilities had ended in Vietnam.

I risked life and limb on a frequent basis in saloons near the NAS in Pensacola, representing our ROTC unit in New Orleans at Mardi Gras, and for a short while on a Helicopter Carrier in the Philippines.

I don't know it was luck or the hand of God or what, but today I celebrate our military success and my family members' ability to survive and return home after their service. But just because our own family has been so lucky doesn't mean that I don't respect those who died and the family members who gather today to remember their loved ones.

Growing up during the Vietnam war in a town outside the gates of the Army's helicopter pilot training center at Ft. Rucker, Alabama caused me to know several dozen kids around me in school that lost fathers and/or brothers in the war effort.

My dad knew even more people personally who died in copter and plane crashes both overseas and on the test ranges at Ft. Rucker. I remember seeing a couple of young pilots at a 4th of July picnic at Ft. Rucker and hearing that they were dead within the very next month.

Things like that sort of stick with you when you can put a face with a name and a wife and a Kid's image with the news story...

...and it pisses me off when the warped religious fanatics and the sniveling booger eating anti-war pacifists bring their protests to funerals and military bases on holidays like today.

I wouldn't change places with anyone that's served in combat, but I damn sure appreciate every one of their efforts--live and dead--and hope that today's ceremonies give their families and friends some comfort and recognition for their sacrifice.

Now it's time to go check on my Butt (photos to follow...)

Change Truth

Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself...

"The treatment President Bush has received from this country is nothing less than a disgrace. The attacks launched against him have been cruel and slanderous, proving to the world what little character and resolve we have. The president is not to blame for all these problems. He never lost faith in America or her people, and has tried his hardest to continue leading our nation during a very difficult time.

Our failure to stand by the one person who continued to stand by us has not gone unnoticed by our enemies. It has shown to the world how disloyal we can be when our president needed loyalty -- a shameful display of arrogance and weakness that will haunt this nation long after Mr. Bush has left the White House."

Jeffrey Scott Shapiro--Wall Street Journal

I Have A Question

And The Answer Is Quite Easy (But Most Definitely Not Politically Popular)...

...not because I have anything against the rich,"...

"I love rich people! I want all of you to be rich. Go for it. That’s the American dream, that’s the American way, that’s terrific.

"The point is, though, that -- and it’s not just charity, it’s not just that I want to help the middle class and working people who are trying to get in the middle class -- it’s that when we actually make sure that everybody’s got a shot – when young people can all go to college, when everybody’s got decent health care, when everybody’s got a little more money at the end of the month – then guess what? Everybody starts spending that money, they decide maybe I can afford a new car, maybe I can afford a computer for my child. They can buy the products and services that businesses are selling and everybody is better off. All boats rise. That’s what happened in the 1990s, that’s what we need to restore. And that’s what I’m gonna do as president of the United States of America.

"John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic,"...

"You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness."

Unless you live under a rock or in a cave or just watch network TV and/or read the local newspaper headlines, you'll likely recognize the above passages as the latest words out of Obamarama's arrogant, crooked, smirking, dishonest mouth.

To me it's almost like he's looking out at the crowds thinking to himself..."look at all of these people like sheep...willing to follow anyone...look at all these incredible, selfish dumbasses...willing to use the power of government to take a portion of TOTAL STRANGERS' lives and fortunes and give it to ME...to make up for my lethargic, useless, underachieving life..."

This man has a basic disrespect and disdain for others. If Bill and sHrillary were professionals at this form of political ideology, Obamarama has elevated elitist liberal condescension to a $#%@ ART FORM.

And people actually buy this rhetoric.

People actually believe that if every young person simply goes to college that by default all incomes will rise. That suddenly all of the lazy and stupid people (over 50% of school aged kids in most states) that currently refuse to take advantage of the government supplied free 12 year high school education and drop out before graduation are suddenly going to spring fertile minds and inherit government supplied successful study habits and then go on to march through two or four more years of school and learn something (skills or knowledge or ability) marketable when the dust settles.

Miraculously they don't do it now by the age of 18, but somewhere between their early twenties and age 100 they'll see the light...that, and the government will also continue to meddle with the "minimum" wage and if the fake educations don't do the trick, then pointing yet another gun at business owners' heads and threatening jail or death if they don't hand over even more of their "before tax" or "after tax" dollars to people who really haven't earned it will certainly attain Pelosi and Reid and Obamarama's pseudo-socialistic Utopian goals of income--even "wealth" for everyone.

And after the entire world population has health care and the government has flooded the health care system with people that can't pay, they'll end up passing even more laws dictating price controls and "Wage caps" in the medical profession--causing all of the current doctors and nurses and MRI technicians to retire or leave town. And the bright kids will stop wanting to practice medicine because the government mandates that fixing transmissions or re-sodding golf courses pays about the same wage as the medical profession and it takes four or eight fewer years of college to accomplish.

Speaking of colleges, they'll be reduced to being places flooded with government paid underachievers bearing official mandates that they be provided with a diploma or else...at government gunpoint...and the smart people will be displaced by all of the clamoring hoards pf affirmative action students of all colors and ability, looking for their "papers" guaranteeing high wages, and of course the quality of the workforce will suffer in spite of all the wet ink on all of the diplomas on the shiny new office walls (offices will also be required by law--not cubicles.)

And then when everyone is supposed to be making $100K a year in government provided jobs with free health care and free retirement benefits, and while they're off from work on their annual eight week government mandated family leave vacation, Obama says it's OK because the new college educated professional rocket scientists will be busy spending their money hand over fist on cars for their in laws and computers for their kids, and guess what...

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND KICKS IN AND PRICES ON CARS AND COMPUTERS GO THROUGH THE ROOF, AND BREAD AND MILK END UP COSTING AS MUCH AS GASOLINE, AND guess what?

The government has no choice but to step in with rationing and price controls, and companies get tired of being told by our omnipotent, all knowing, all seeing government what products they MUST produce, the quantities they MUST produce, and how much money they can charge for their efforts, and things go on and on until finally...

Just like Ayn Rand's characters in her 1950' epic novel Atlas Shrugged, all the real producers...all of the truly capable people in society...

QUIT WORKING.

JUST SIT AROUND AT HOME AND BE "SELFISH" BY CANDIDATE OBAMA'S LIBERAL STANDARDS.

Sounds like a plan to me. I've done it once before in my life, and when the government makes the share of my compensation less that is reasonable for my time and efforts expended, I'll go back to my sofa again.

Why is it that so many people out there---in some instances HIGHLY EDUCATED people--can't understand these concepts?

Yeah...I know...it's not that they really don't understand...it just that they don't have any political power unless someone "need" them to run their lives.

And they don't care who they hurt and what they have to do in the process of staying in political office.

It's not about "working families", it's about their own fat liberal wallets.

A House Divided Against Itself

Cannot Stand...

In the spirit of enduing the current political hysteria, I ask that you take a look at the wording of the Speech Abraham Lincoln delivered to the State Republican Convention in Springfield, MO in June 1858.

Here's the opening phrases and the "Money words" best remembered:

Mr. President and Gentlemen of the Convention.

If we could first know where we are, and whither we are tending, we could then better judge what to do, and how to do it.

We are now far into the fifth year, since a policy was initiated, with the avowed object, and confident promise, of putting an end to slavery agitation.

Under the operation of that policy, that agitation has not only, not ceased, but has constantly augmented.

In my opinion, it will not cease, until a crisis shall have been reached, and passed.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand."

With those words in mind, I can't help but wonder what Mr. Lincoln would think of our situation here in his beloved Republic today?

A Great Man's Birthday

265 Years Ago Yesterday

This man was born...

Then he built this house some time later:

Then he died, and in my opinion...we've had a great deal of trouble replacing him ever since.

RIP Mr. Jefferson

Words Too Good To Pass Up

"What I want to fix your attention on is the vast overall movement towards the discrediting, and finally the elimination, of every kind of human excellence -- moral, cultural, social or intellectual.

And is it not pretty to notice how 'democracy' (in the incantatory sense) is now doing for us the work that was once done by the most ancient dictatorships, and by the same methods?

The basic proposal of the new education is to be that dunces and idlers must not be made to feel inferior to intelligent and industrious pupils. That would be 'undemocratic.'

Children who are fit to proceed may be artificially kept back, because the others would get a trauma by being left behind. The bright pupil thus remains democratically fettered to his own age group throughout his school career, and a boy who would be capable of tackling Aeschylus or Dante sits listening to his coeval's [of the same age] attempts to spell out A CAT SAT ON A MAT.

We may reasonably hope for the virtual abolition of education when 'I'm as good as you' has fully had its way. All incentives to learn and all penalties for not learning will vanish. The few who might want to learn will be prevented; who are they to overtop their fellows?

And anyway, the teachers -- or should I say nurses? -- will be far too busy reassuring the dunces and patting them on the back to waste any time on real teaching. We shall no longer have to plan and toil to spread imperturbable conceit and incurable ignorance among men."
